Monthly Favorites

Hello ladies and gentleman!

Well I started classes back up again and for the last time which usually means I go MIA because I have a semi-mediocre social life and clearly spend majority of my time on the internet. Let’s just say with the way things are going you won’t be “cashing me outside.” Please boost my ego and tell me you got that reference ok? ok! But seriously though, this last month I basically just spent my time pretending to pull myself together for my last semester; queue me doing the wrong assignments and then forgetting to bring it with me (stay golden xtina), stalking Drake’s love life, relentlessly complaining about how cold it is outside, and going to see the Sound of Music which inspired me to write about a few of my favorite things.

So yeah I am officially a grandma. In every sense of the word. I don’t go out, and when I do I wear turtlenecks (not a joke), I’m planning my sweet future with my next puppy, I’m usually in bed by 10pm, and I go to musicals on Tuesday nights. Talk about a raging second semester senior am I right? After weeks of writers block I decided to basically talk about all my favorite things in my adult life throughout the month of January, like going to see live shows; you know the kind that involve actual glasses of wine and not shots from tampon flasks behind port-a-potty’s in the rain. Yeah some questionable decisions may have been made in my past. What’s not questionable though are my choices in products, clothes (well, sometimes questionable) and things I find enjoyable that have seemed to get me through this funk I like to call winter. I’m only a few days late on posting my favorites for the month of January so let’s not waste anymore time shall we?

Let’s just get right into it!

Lately I have been obsessed with jackets. Especially this Free People one. This would probably be thanks to my roommate, Natalie who who hooked me on this bandwagon because it totally makes a difference to an outfit. They’re probably my new favorite accessory as well. This jacket in particular is the literal love of my life. It almost fills that void of being single. But, anyway I saw her pick it up in the store, contemplated it for a day and then I ordered it online. Oops. Not even one ragret.

As for the leggings. Oh my god. These leggings give me life. They’re from alo and I got them for Christmas. Huge shoutout to the big guy, Santa for making me look like I’m fit, fun and flirty. They are the epitome of bad ass and let me tell you they really do enhance the ass. So, bonus. Guys I need all the help I can get. Anyway, if you haven’t heard of them check them out because they are amazing.

Lastly, are we really surprised graphic tees are on my list? I’ll keep this one short because everyone knows I’m obsessed with T-shirts and have no professional clothes in my closet. Nope just racks of band bees that make me seem like a groupie of music I’ve probably never listened to and a heaps of cheeky sayings that really bring out my passive aggressive attitude.

I really only have one because it is THE god of all staple pieces that are now in my wardrobe. I protect this thing as if it were my child. Honestly, I think I’m better at taking care of this bag than children because I don’t have to bribe it with candy and cookies to come love me; it just does and it is beautiful.

Okay first of all, I am no where near perfect when it comes to my skin. In fact I think I’m forever stuck in the pre-pubescent phase where it likes to break out right when I have an event, a hot date (ok jokes), and like every day for that matter. It’s so annoying but at least I found products that keep my skin somewhat acceptable to show the public on a daily basis. The first product is a face mask that keeps my skin so toned and so smooth. Fresh has amazing products especially for sensitive skin.

Another one of my favorites is Mario Badescue. He has a facial spray and a drying lotion that work wonders to keep my skin hydrated and balanced. And obviously the aesthetic is on point. So many bloggers and YouTubers rave about these products and I myself have to agree.

St. Tropez, you have saved my life when it comes to me obsessing over the fact I haven’t had a tan in what feels like ages. I swear this stuff is like an island in a bottle and once the color develops I feel like I should be ringing my cabana boy for more mojitos by the beach.

Lastly, I have been using these hair care products religiously for years now. I have repurchased multiple times and every time I start new bottle I fall more and more in love. Oribe products are INCREDIBLE. They are definitely pricey but so worth it in my opinion. I use two different oils because my bleached and color treated hair is by far the frizziest I’ve encountered on a white girl. For styling I always use the texturizing spray (also acts as a dry shampoo) and the hairspray.

and lastly…

This month has been filled me me avoiding responsibilities by finding more fun things to do with my time than homework (see above if you skimmed over where I’m doing the wrong assignments). And these are the things that have taken up my entire month of January! Reason number 298347895 why I also failed to write more posts but like quality over quantity am I right? The only thing I’ve taken away from my Social Support class thus far. Because I’ve managed to really indulge myself I’ve broken this down into subcategories. Ugh I’m so organized.

TV: The Bachelor. Corinne is my spirit animal. (hang on while I go make cheese pasta)

Shameless. Because we all need a Frank Gallagher in our lives at some point.

Books: Subliminal: How your unconscious mind rules your behavior. Because reading educational books for fun makes you feel better about yourself when you’re actually supposed to be reading a textbook. And it freaks you out a little.

You are a Badass. Because we all need a confidence booster when we are in the funk of all funks.

Music: aka my mini winter playlist

  1. Scared to be Lonely x Martin Garix ft. Dua Lipa
  2. Dancer x Fairchild
  3. Frustrated (Russ Macklin Remix) x Russ Macklin
  4. Solo Dance x Martin Jensen
  5. Final Song (Diplo and Jauz Remix) x Mø

And there you have it everyone! My life in a nutshell, you obviously haven’t missed much but I love you all and I hope you enjoyed!
